Service areas include carer promote and respite, assistive technology and equipment, Noah’s Ark WA, occupational therapy driver assessment, Home and Community Concern regional assessment, and grants and equipment funding. A community where all people can participate and are included. To guide people’s choices to access assistive technology and services for independence and well being. We respect people of all ages and abilities including earlier people, people with disability, their family, carers, service providers and the community. We promote people’s independence and well being through information, advice, assessment, referral, funding, hire and respite services. We collaborate with organizations to present the best conceivable service to our consumers. The ICC is funded by these Government Departments to provide people with disability, the delicate aged and their families access to professional expertise and services that contribute to the outcomes of well being, independence, definite relationships, development of abilities, skills and competencies and participation in community life. The project aims to further develop a sustainable service model that will enable Yacc Program clients to access and take home modifications and assistive technology (often referred to as aids and equipment) that support independence and well being through the WA Assessment Framework. With recognition that home modifications and assistive technology can urge clients to maintain their independence and well being, Yacc is committed through this two year project, to explore what will support growth in this area. To urge the development of a sustainable service delivery model that guides the provision of home modifications and equipment for WA Home and Community Protection (Yacc) clients a Scoping Review was conducted by the ICC in partnership with the Curtis University School of Occupational Therapy and Social Labor to explore the key factors that influence best practice in home modification service delivery. It had been recognized that the evaluation of different promote and service delivery models was urgent in vogue times of funding changes and reforms within the education and disability sectors. These projects have trialed a service delivery model of brief term, intensive within classroom’ promote with the Speech Pathologist becoming part of the teaching team to achieve communication, academic and social outcomes for students with complicated communication needs. The research was funded by Yacc Western Australia to evaluate how low cost aids and equipment can most effectively be assessed, provided, accessed and funded. Recommendations are made to construct capacity across the AT sector to urge the implementation of a systematic approach to non intricate AT provision. Work is being undertaken to explore and encourage initiatives where new technology is already implemented and generate a broader interest in assistive technology across the sector. ICC will have a body of evidence that can be worn to further flourish the methods of information delivery and to urge the service to expand to face the needs of Yacc clients. To expand our consumer base to include people who may not have old our service without this capacity. To potentially lessen the costs associated with accessing our services for the health services that use ICC. To provide ICC services to therapists at the time and location of their service delivery to their clients. ICC Tech is qualified to yield surplus support to families and therapists in the planning and implementation of their communication device trial. StARTSPEAK was an innovative three year project run by DADAA designed to close the digital separate for people with learning difficulties. Using an informed design process tools, software and training were developed and delivered to facilitate individual and collective artistic expression that speaks to a long audience. ICC’s role in this project was the development and delivery of touch pad training for project participants.
