Art Gallery in Nedlands, Fine Art in Nedlands, Auction in Nedlands

Our Perth based art auctions are conducted out of the Wilkinson Gallery at the Claremont Showgrounds for ease of access, enough space and ample of time to view. We deal exclusively in fine art, both Australian and international, and we give a range of services including: EFL Pleasing Art was established in 1994 and since this time has developed into WA’s leading pleasing art auction house and specialists. EFL’s directors have over 40 years experience in the industry today and pride themselves on building a company that not only excels beyond industry standards but one that is prepared to receive responsibility for each of its individual clients. Some of the masterworks of Australian painting pass through our hands and sell to our clients locally, nationally and internationally. We believe it is crucial that a labor never gets slotted into an auction when clearly an auction is not the best method of sale. We also believe it is important that a work is never sold privately when clearly the superior method of sale is by auction. All our clients are advised personally about the right method of sale. Overall it is a slogan we take seriously as it is a pledge that the glossy of customer care and quality of stock will never be compromised.

Our online art gallery and timed online auctions are also based out of our Carl isle department, as this is where maximum of our artworks are stored and packing facilities are readily available. EFL Pleasing Art now give a variety of ways to bid at auction, in person, via telephone, absentee lodgement and now live online via Invaluable a authentic time bidding platform. The traces of time are all around us and they have little effect on our senses that is, until it becomes time to paint the house. One of the beginning Australian artists to paint rural and urban scenes, his drawing skills and discipline allowed him to capture the areas he frequented, in a style unique to himself. Prior the arrival of the mgr artists from Europe, the landscape was the main source of inspiration for the locals. This work, Echolalia (The Road) which can also be found in the collection of the National Gallery of Australia delves into those notions of memory and subjectivity. Well schooled in art and popular from the beginning the reviews of her exhibitions were mainly complimentary and encouraging. Subsequent a lengthy period of migrant and painting Australia she returned to Western Australia in 1988 to live and work. The response to the exhibition opening was positive and it has been a recreation to exhibit these little works by vast artists that often go unnoticed during our auction viewings. The disclose was moderately prosperous to begin with all the works selling over the latter 12 months some used through auction and others off the gallery wall with works often fetching higher price at auction than they were priced at exhibition. It has been 14 years since that beginning exhibition, though over the years many of her works have been sold through our rooms. His color was unique and used in a non normal (to me) manner. George was building a new studio and he had to sell some pictures to pay for it. For years and years I earned my living teaching and painting pleinair landscapes, and it is the landscape that has shaped my ideas on color. I appreciate the slog of these paintings, it allows me to fill a lot into them. This is my beginning show in a public gallery after an absence of eight years. He was one of those artists that was nudging Australia into internationalism and exterior of the institutions, Lynn’s labor was not popular and received scant understanding. Elwyn Lynn was one of the scanty people that was qualified to unite a successful career as an arts administrator without losing status as an urgent artist. And even though much contemporary criticism in Australia treats the art from this era as pass, it is our correct to disagree with that opinion and appreciate these works for the quality they exhibit. Each of the artists is represented by a important work that is healthy crafted and exhibits the individuality for which they achieved their deposit in history. They informed me that she had been very important for the promotion of modernism in Perth, firstly through setting up her own gallery in 1965 (the Rhode Gallery), and through her labor in establishing the Contemporary Art Society with Guy Grey Smith. She loved native gardens and established a nice one at her home. Eventually she said something along the lines of There will be children there and some people who might not comprehend that as an art piece. This collector is critical of the auction houses focused on volume, saying they fair want works to sell irrespective of price.
